    Great work, Malkie! I agree with you that it could take a while to teach students how to use the technology rather than go directly to the actual learning. However, once students know how to use the technology, they could use it numerous times and have the time to focus on the actual learning.

    Your presentation was well presented and clear. I agree with the issue you brough up in your second slide. A lot of class time is focused on figuring out the technology tool, and less of actual learning goes on....

    I loved listening to your presentation! It's well designed and very clearly articulated. It's true that incorporating technology in one's teaching may be challenging, however with the right implementation educators will be giving their students the most valued learning experience.

Second Life (SL) is a great tool to use in the classroom. There are many features and parts that can help enhance an ELA lesson. Second Life welcomes you into a virtual world. Students will have a chance to explore and see things on SL that they really would not have an opportunity to see otherwise. While exploring I have found a few different ways you can use SL in an ELA lesson. The first way is by going on an virtual field trip using SL and then have the students do some sort of writing or activity based on what they have seen an explore. Week 3 Assignment 1

Article 1: It is very important to teach our students new Literacies. New literacies includes digital and media technology. It is important that students should not just learn the traditional way, this new way of learning is needed for everyone student as this is the literacy of the world now. Students must know how to communicate using email, text and chats, know how to use search engines, and more. Though almost all classroom have computers and technology for the students to use, they do not go into use for a lot of the time. This is because teachers are nervous for various different reasons to use technology in their lessons. One teacher, Mr. Todd has used lots of technology in the classroom. His students all receive their own laptop which they are constantly using.
