Week 6 Assignment 2-2

Edmodo is a great tool for teachers to use in their classrooms to enhance ELA instruction. There are many great features and tools on Edmodo that are both teacher and student friendly. The first great tool that Edmodo has is assignments. Under assignments the teacher is able to post an assignment for her class, she can have the due date there and write the description of what she wants her students to do for the assignment. Poll is also another exciting feature on Edmodo. With poll teachers can ask their students questions and receive answers from their students super fast. Badges, is also a great tool to use. This helps keeps the students motivated and gives them positive feedback for their achievements. There are many different badges to choose from, each representing a different accomplishment. Another great feature is library. Library is where all the assignments, files, links, and much more can be found. Students can type in their search and find whatever it is that they need for the class or assignment. The quiz option is also a great tools to use. Teachers have the ability to create quiz for their students to take.
   
All in all, Edmodo is a great ELA tool to use. The features really enhance the instruction and highers the level of learning. Students will be able to use Edmodo both in the classroom and out of it- as long as they have a device with internet. Using Edmodo is bringing the new literacies into your classroom and lessons and is enhancing your ELA lesson a lot!

Week 3 Assignment 2

Which ideas from the PPT reflect what the ELA teachers you interviewed are currently doing to integrate technology with their literacy instruction? The ELA teacher that I interviewed does use some technology but not much as they don't have the proper resources for it in the school. The power point did reflect that the teacher will use technology to help her students better understand the literacy that they are learning. How can you help change their instructional practices to include the use of technology and the Internet in their literacy and content-area curriculum? I think that the school needs to learn more about new literacies and the importance of teaching our students about it.
