Week 5 Assignment 2
Technology is changing the face of the earth. Everything that used to be pen and paper is now done technologically. We have almost forgotten what the world was like before technology started taking over. Our students, are born into this technologically advanced world. For them pen and paper and traditional classroom lessons are boring and not stimulating. They would much rather go home where they can play their games and be busy on their devices. We can change this and help motivate our students by adding technology and Gaming Literacy to our curriculum. Gaming in education will make the students interested and want to learn more. Besides for just being fun and interactive, the games are also educational, Students will learn many new and important skills when using games in the classroom. There are many different options of gaming literacy, one such option is Scratch, where students can use digital storytelling. Both students and teacher will gain from gaming literacy. Students will be excited to learn and enjoy school and the lesson very much. Teachers, who will have to work hard to develop gaming lessons, will feel accomplished when there students are enjoying their lessons and are gaining a lot at the same time.
Gaming Literacy is very important to add to our curriculum and has many benefits.
